EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

277
Harassment Complaints Database: Union Policy
Branches are reminded of the CWU's stance on dealing with bullying and harassment cases. A bullying and harassment complaints database is held in the Equal Opportunities Department.
Branches are encouraged to utilise the HCD1 form to record allegations of bullying and harassment made by CWU members. Information concerning the HCD1 form can be found on the CWU website under the Equal Opportunities section.
We appreciate that this will add to an already busy work schedule but it is essential that, as a union, we instil confidence in our members that our zero tolerance policy on bullying and harassment is followed up with action and not just words.
The data that comes through to headquarters will be vital in enabling us to analyse and identify any problem patterns which may exist and we can flag these accordingly.
We extend our appreciation to all those branches who consistently comply with this request and look forward to the co-operation of all branches in this matter.
Any queries in relation to this paragraph should be addressed to Linda Roy, National Equality Office.

278
Mandatory Equality & Diversity Training
Branch secretaries are requested to ensure that any person in their branch who has CWU representative responsibilities and has not yet completed their mandatory equality & diversity training are enrolled in the courses that are planned throughout the regions in the forthcoming months.
All reps must do the training - this includes divisional reps, area reps, unit reps and branch officers. For clarification on dates please contact your regional secretary.
The training has been running now for over three years and there are still a substantial number of reps who have not completed the training.
Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Equal Opportunities Department.

BT TSO: BT Security - Positive Selection Exercises in Access Management Teams
A positive selection exercise has been completed within the Security Access management teams.
The teams are not co-located and mainly singletons across many locations including homeworkers.
The first team impacted are Global Privilege Logical Access teams and the exercise within this team will involve three D1s and reducing by one.
The enablers that facilitate this reduction are as follows:

• Further implementation of the Self Service Managed Privilege Access (MPA) across the server estate to reduce manual work in managing issuance of root passwords to support teams

  • Further integration and multi-skilling of the Privilege Logical Access team.

One of the team is being interviewed for a new role though, so, if successful management will not take this forward and simply not backfill the post.
Attached is the job description for the role and the key skill criteria management will be using in the selection, if needed.
The other team impacted is the Global Core Networks Logical Access team.
The PS exercise with this team will involve seven C3s and management will be reducing by two.
The rationale for the reductions is as follows:

• Reduction of Core Networks Logical Access SASM helpdesk calls via process improvements; resolution of repeat issues and improvements to the Q&A self-service facility which will provide information and advice 24/7
• Further automation of user provisioning and password resets for Core Networks to reduce manual work.

Attached is the job description for the role and the key skill criteria management will use in the selection.
For both exercises, management will use the BTO selection portal and the agreed selection criteria of DPR, current capabilities and five key skills and the agreed weighting measures.
Management will also ask to see if anyone simply wants to volunteer for a change of career.
